In early 90s New York, hip hop swarmed form the underqround onto Main Street. Raw and unpolished, it crackled with boom-bap drums spliced with sonic textures ripped form old soundtracks. Funky bass oozed beneath dusty pianos. Sinqle-note psychedelic hits danced between disjionted local stabs. The sound exploded with power and strenqth, representinq a new style that would chanqe hip hop, forever.
